World Cup Mania

Another World Cup!!! So much madness!!!! The first stage was done and dusted today when West Indies lost to India .
I was sure that the first month with the rounds with the minnows would be a dud.
And look at all the excitement we got!!!
1. England, ( who said they are boring??? Their food? May be. Their weather? May be , but certainly not their cricket!!! Not under Strauss)Hats off, you produced the most exciting cricket of all. A tied match, A loss to Ireland???? Great cricket
2. India can slide very fast!!!! 9 wickets in 20 runs, 7 wickets in 51 runs????so all the indian hearts go up and down!!!And after all this we still maintain that cricket is a religion that unites us and we are all sure that we have only one God and he rules and that is Sachin!!!!
3. West Indies?? I thought they were down and out , and here they come , give a run for the money and make it to the quarterfinals. Who knows they may even win
4. Ireland , what can one say about them, Veni Vidi Vici!!! They took the world cup by storm, won two matches and I am sure they are all proud of a captain who could have done better with some experience on his side. My hats off to Porterfield. Best captain I would say.
5. Netherlands had their moments too!!!
6. Pakistan, here today , gone tomorrow . They are the ever unpredictable side. Sorry to see Aktar go though.
7. Bangla Desh fought like the tigers they are
8. Australia were their usual austere self????
9. Canada, Kenya and Zimbabwe of course did not give a very good account of themselves though. Pity but it does not warrant for excluding them from the next cup, does it???
And last but not the least, the commentators on the extra time slot continue to sizzle!!!!!!!!!! Why cant we have normal people talking in these shows??? Something more of cricket and less of all the rubbish quotations and sayings????? It gets a little jarring!!!!
Now waiting for the next stage to begin.
