What happened on the floor of the Parliament on the 22nd of July was , beyond a doubt, entertainment. What else could one call the drama enacted by all the elected representatives. Soap opera?

Now there are a lot of questions that arise out of this vote of confidence.

Where did the 3 crore rupees that was flashed around come from?

So why is the finance minister not asking how so much cash is lying around?

Will he tax the man who had the money?

Do we elect MPs so that they go to parliament, vote, cross vote, abstain and in the end not bother about the issues that confront us?

What is the picture we have presented to the world ? That we are a bunch of corrupt, noisy, disruptive nation??

Why is it that opposition means always voting against the government? Why don't they think that once in a way , they should support the government especially when the welfare of the nations is at stake?

Why the hell did we waste so much time on the vote when we are just a few months away from the next general election?

Is it a surprise now that children do not want anything to do with politics, they would rather go away from the country and do something for themselves instead?

Of course there were some nice things that came out of this, I thought.

The Honourable speaker defied his party whip, or whatever and continued to be an unbiased observer of proceedings. HIs one liners all along were good . The poor guy might have landed with a problem of High BP, I am sure. What with the members behaving worse that the kids we see sometimes in schools.And at the end of the ordeal all he wanted to do was eat and sleep!!!

Our great PM was all composed and sitting so quietly in his place, that it was difficult to read his mind. I am sure he must have been just as jittery as the opposition if not more. But then he looked cool and composed. He was not allowed to make his speech. But that was also ok with him.

There were many people who claimed they were from different communities but then India was the main issue and they would vote the government in.
Many of those defied were expelled from the party.
And the Sensex rose, much to the relief of thousands of investors.
Hoping to see many more such REALITY SHOWS . Yes it was ENTERTAINMENT UNLIMITED.
